My beliefs on the issue of the Truth Enforcers v larping: Democracy officers are the first line of defense. They’re your common Everyman snitches. They report to the Ministry of Truth. The MoT still needs an investigative arm and an enforcement arm. That’s not necessarily where the TE come in since the MoT has people for these things. But when it comes to Helldivers I think that’s where the MoT engages the Truth Enforcers. They’re a fictional series in the lore bc of course they need to be downplayed so people think they’re just a bogey man and civilians don’t see them. Helldivers are shock troopers with access to all kinds of weapons and stratagems and if they are reported to the ministry then it’s a serious threat. Truth Enforcers are Helldivers working in tandem with SEAF and the MoT. I choose also to believe the Redacted Regiment are as well. Not just stealth troopers, but specialized Helldivers focused on mission objectives not personal stats. I like to think Truth Enforcers are promoted from the redacted regiment. Either that or when a Truth Enforcer is sent to dive on a planet for a major order they drop the TE armor and wear Redacted Regiment armor (that’s what I do - null cipher medium armor and bloodhound helmet for POI finding).
