my own mother passed away and had LBD. she always said (before she got sick) "take care of the family you made." 💔❤️it's such a hard choice sometimes.

My great grandma had dementia, we tried ti care for her.. she moved in when i was 15 and my sister was 16. It was the best 2 years..😭 loving her, caring for her, middle of the night talks then i went to school. we eventually had to move her into a nursing home and SHE LOVED IT!!!! I would visit her after school and we would even take her out on day dates!! One time she told the cracker barrel server that we left her baby in the car🤣 they called the police. It was her baby doll. 😅🤣 im 31 now… i miss her so much

Prayers during this change. Since everyone is saying how horrible nursing homes are, let me tell you opposite. My dad also had severe dementia and was in one for 5 years before he passed 2 months ago and we loved it and every single staff member there. I never had a single worry and yes, I visited frequently. We also did meals with him. He was so loved and cared for there. ❤️Praying Baba gets the same ❤️

I’m sure if baba were to be lucid for a day she would 100% support your decision and I’m sure she would be so grateful for the 3 years you’ve given her full of family and happiness and being able to stay at home as long as she has

Oh no nursing homes are the absolute worst. They do not take care of people the way they should. I feel so bad for her being in there.

nursing homes are horrible, I was a cna for over a decade and I refuse to let my family go. ive done my families hospice, some dementia care for them. make sure you check on her regularly, she will never know if she neglected there till you start seeing pressure sores or hygiene neglect

i am seeing many negative comments about nursing homes but as a CNA there ARE GOOD nursing homes! There are also bad nursing homes. I work at the Waters Of Dunkirk and it is the best I’ve ever worked at. It is just the matter of choosing the right nursing home!! I pray for you, your family, and baba on this tough decision. Dementia is such a hard disease to work with especially with young children! you’re doing great!! Prayers🫂❤️🩹
