He definitely did have a distinct identity like we don’t have someone like him anymore. The reason ppl moved on was bc for the last 5 years he has continually lost motivation and has preferred to stay more private, causing him to move out the limelight. There’s no denying that his catalog contains good music and he is one of the best vocalists in the world. He just doesn’t want it anymore and I get it but it is sad

I agree for sure, I might get hate for this but I think the same goes for bruno mars and ed sheeran and tbh most pop stars . I get their still popping but all their music sounds the same. same kind of mix same vocal delivery, even if they do a diff genre or diff production entirely it still has the same feeling they bring to it imo

I also think he stopped trying so hard to make hits, for sure with his new album it’s way more introspective and personal. Which I wish was more of his image but unfortunately, he is kinda stuck as the pop guy from the late 2010s.

honestly i use to be a die hard stan for shawn back in 2016 and now i don’t even listen to his music anymore but ill always support him by seeing him in concert it just sucks that he has so much potential and his team and his label just pushed him and promoted him more

Only kinda unique quality is that his voice sound like it want to break down into a classic pop punk drawl (for the ppl that know something like how jxdn sounded in his first album) but it barely even noticeable either way

Shawn's team and label sucks. he had so much potential if it wasn't for his mental health declining which lead to him taking a break ultimately leading to so many songs being scrapped. majority of the songs from his new album was meh but not terrible.
