in high school while studying history and government we learnt about the "early visitors at the Kenyan coast" Portuguese, Arabs, Italians, and Indians who mostly were hired for the construction of Kenya Uganda railway line As a result of this diverse cultures Swahili language was born...thus you find many words happens to be borrowed from all these visiting people It's called "utohozi" in deep Swahili

There was a time Kitambo kiasi I was watching Naagin (in Hindu version with subtitles 😂) and some time I had to pause and rewind cos nikama walikua wanaongea kiswahili , imagine kuna scene they are arguing and somebody said baaas😂😂😂 I was like hii ni version ya Githurai ama niko zangu, I heard words like Dunia,Pesa,kiburi Bangili, basi etc
