how do we know God is perfect? we dont know what to compare that to because we dont understand what perfection is. any higher being could come tell us they're perfect and we wouldnt really know if that was true or not.

A lot of people don't understand the concept of God. Humans aren't imperfect because God made us, humans just are imperfect, and God allowed us to live. There won't be proof of a God that requires your faith. If there was proof, then faith wouldn't be needed. Do you need faith to know 1 + 1 = 2? No, faith isn't needed. Why? Because there's proof! In a world where our faith is needed/wanted, there literally will not be any proof at all. Faith should be a choice, you should have the right to think and do whatever you want. But at least understand the concept first. God may be "omnipotent," but what that actually means is God won't do anything out of his character. His power works infinitely, but there is also an infinite amount of power he could/would never act on. Either way, believe what you want! Freedom to choose is essential
