Making this video made me realize just how far we’ve come with the park and ourselves. I hope watching our silly little videos encourages you to do the hard thing, pursue the unrealistic goal, be okay being afraid. All that matters is that you keep showing up. I remember painting the boathouse in the dead cold of winter and literally crying i was so over it and cold. There was no end in sight, just work, on top of work, on top of work, but looking back now I’m SO nostalgic for those days, i was pushing myself so much and was diving head first into a brand new chapter of life. I can’t encourage you enough to pursue your dreams, they’re your dreams for a reason, I promise!🥹💛. One of the most valuable lessons i learned this past year was that joy and sorrow exist in the same breath, I’ve had some reallyyyy tough things happen with my family this past year and i sat in the sadness for way too long. Honestly, i became the victim to my own life, but showing up each day and just doing what i could in that moment, whether that was painting one piece of trim or taping & floating three sections of drywall when i had an entire kitchen to do, i just had to show up. I didn’t have to let the sadness consume me & when i started sharing our journey on here with you, that’s when I realized that a new chapter of life can come into existence, one full of joy and excitement, all while grief and sorrow still exist. How freeing to know there is no right time, there is no being ready! Life just goes on, new chapters get written! Anyways, I’m so utterly thankful for each of you, for allowing me to share our story, for encouraging me, for laughing with me!!
