WE LOVE ANIMALS… BUT WHY DO WE TREAT SOME SO DIFFERENTLY? 🐻🐷🌱 I've been vegan for over 14 years, and the biggest reason has never been about building muscle, losing fat, or improving my health. It's always been about the animals. Recently, I visited The Wild Animal Sanctuary in Colorado, where rescued lions, tigers, bears, wolves, and other animals are given the opportunity to live in a safer environment after experiencing exploitation, neglect, or abuse. And being there reminded me why I made this decision years ago. Most of us would agree that these animals deserve compassion. But here's the question I want you to think about… Why do we extend that compassion to lions, bears, dogs, and cats, but often struggle to extend it to cows, pigs, and chickens? They're different animals, but their ability to experience suffering matters too. I understand why this conversation makes people uncomfortable. Trust me, I spent years eating animals myself. I wasn't born vegan. I had to question things I'd accepted as normal my entire life. And eventually, I asked myself: If I care about animals, how can I better align my actions with those values? That's what veganism means to me. It's not about being perfect, judging others, or pretending the transition is always easy. It's about making more compassionate choices when we have the opportunity. And you don't have to change everything overnight to start making a difference. 🌱 If you've been thinking about eating more plant-based foods but don't know where to begin, comment VEGAN. I'll personally reach out and help you get started. Now I'm curious: Why do you think society views some animals as companions and others as food? 👇
