Interesting character idea, wizard who took part in a war and now has to spend the campaign learning that the gruesome acts of war dont apply well to daily life, fueled by ptsd and a a constant use of excessive force because thats all he knew in war, and you watch him grow from being lawful evil to whatever alignment you feel fits your version of the character or whatever works well with the story

My Evoker Wizard was on a boat getting attacked by pirates. We managed to blow a big enough hole that she could see the 24 gunpowder barrels in the hold. She hit a fireball right in the center of them. Turned the enemy into a supernova.....along with 2 allies who had boarded the pirates. So yeah.... She's not allowed to cast fireball anymore
