The longer you wait for the “perfect” text, the harder it becomes to send anything at all. 1️⃣ Keep it simple. 💬 “It’s been a while 😂. How’ve you been?” You don’t need a dramatic comeback. 2️⃣ Use something that genuinely reminded you of them. 💬 “I drove past that coffee place we went to and it made me think of you.” It feels natural because it has a reason behind it. 3️⃣ Skip the boring “Hey.” 💬 “Random question… did you ever end up taking that trip?” People enjoy replying when there’s something to reply to. 4️⃣ If you’re comfortable joking with each other… 💬 “So… are we pretending we didn’t both disappear? 😂” A little humor takes the pressure off. 5️⃣ Don’t send an essay. You don’t need to explain where you’ve been for three paragraphs. Most people are just happy you reached out. 6️⃣ Don’t force the conversation. Send the text. If they reply, great. If they don’t, you’ve got your answer without sending five follow-ups. 7️⃣ Remember this… If reconnecting feels like you’re carrying the whole conversation by yourself… It might be worth asking whether it’s a conversation worth restarting.
