I've kept Google assistant for as long as I could. I just want to set alarms, timers, start music, which it's done mostly competently for ages. gemini sucks at starting timers for me.

I can’t even ask Siri a simple one-dimensional trivia fact that it would have been able to answer 5 years ago. Let alone the fact that it won’t actually execute any function on the phone at all

i have a pixel and told it "ok Google set an alarm for [time]" and normally where it would do what I fucking asked, it said it can't because the AI can't interact or doesn't have permissions. why can't it just do what it did before

I've noticed since they removed Google assistant , every time I say hey Google the interaction is worse. Today I asked it to set a timer for 10 min , and it ended up setting a timer for 20

Alexa used to be able to control my lights and make announcements. Not when I ask it to announce something to my wife, half the time she answers me thinking I’m talking to her. For example: “Alexa announce” “what would you like me to announce” “what would you like for dinner, honey” her: “I’m just a voice assistant, so I don’t eat, but thank you for asking!”
