I couldn’t even help my own niece because we weren’t close enough. She ended up making that choice because her parents didn’t really care about her. Her mom had been in jail twice, and her dad didn’t have a job. I know education is really important, but I also think the environment someone grows up in plays a huge role in shaping who they become and the choices they make. In the end, it just hurts and makes me sad to see everything that’s happened
