I believe videogames are what art was meant to be.A writer spends his entire life writing for a book or a group of them.A musician spends his entire life composing pieces for the publics listening.A painter spends his whole life perfecting a portrait.Yet no writer can make a song,no musician can paint a portrait and no painter can write a book.Within videogames it all comes together.Stories of the outmost quality,music that warms the soul,and visuals that capture everything that makes us human.For whatever started this universe gave us sin,and as a counterpart,it gave us art.The sins of man are unfortunately unforgettable,but so are the stories that I’ve read,the songs that I’ve heard,and the things that I saw.From Steve teaching us that imagination should never be restricted by your resources,Mario teaching us that you may save the princess,but that doesn’t mean you own her.Kratos teaching us that only those who have felt desperation can truly bring hope and peace.Souls teaching us that the shadow of defeat is as large as you make it,and that you can overcome anything,as long as you go on.Arthur taught us that even a killer can be redeemed,and Dante that even Devil’s can cry.V taught us that death is inevitable,so make the best you can and have as much fun as you can while you wait for it to knock at your door.Jin taught us that we should not be slaves of our customs but we can be free when perspective evolves.Makoto,Yu and Ren taught me that death is complicated like the night sky,if you search through the fog of this dark world you will find the truth and rebellion against those desires that rule over us like dictators is possible.all these things I’ve learned,from sitting and watching,listening and reading,what art can give us.I truly tell you.A life that lacks art is a life that lacks purpose.

there’s so many video games that have legit changed my life, i prolly wouldn’t even be here if i never learned about Undertale. i hate it when people water down video games to violent, mindless slop, because they’re so much more than that. so many of them have amazing stories and beautiful worlds to explore, no one will ever make me hate them.
