#the8 #orbit ( اغنية هاو سفنتين "Orbit" مترجمة )
A clip from "Хвосты" ("Tails") (1966), by Vladimir Polkovnikov. A fox, fleeing hunting dogs, loses her tail in the underbrush. A magpie, the forest's self-appointed advisor, convinces the passing animals that a tail is a tail, and they may as well trade. The hare takes the fox's brush, the fox settles for the hare's stub, the wolf takes what he wants and refuses to give it back, and the whole arrangement collapses into a brawl that leaves everyone worse off than they started. The wise hedgehog, who declined the swap, offers the moral: от добра добра не ищут, or don't go looking for better when what you have is already good. Polkovnikov animates it in the warm graphic style Soyuzmultfilm perfected in the mid-60s: flat storybook color, expressive silhouette acting, and a voice cast of Soviet screen legends including Anatoly Papanov and Georgy Vitsin. The script comes from Vladimir Suteev, who had been one of Soyuzmultfilm's founding animators in the 1930s before becoming the most beloved children's author-illustrator in the USSR, a writer returning to a medium he helped build. Vladimir Polkovnikov (1906-1982) was among the first generation of Soviet animation directors, joining Soyuzmultfilm at its founding and working there for nearly five decades. He co-directed The Grey Neck (1948) and The Enchanted Boy (1955), and his films tend toward moral clarity delivered without heaviness, fables that trust the audience to arrive at the lesson on their own. #soyuzmultfilm #sovietanimation #vladimirsuteev #handdrawnanimation #animationhistory
