Thankyou for talking about this! I don’t like how social media tries to depict people who struggle to make/keep friends as the problem, when in reality, social settings could be hard for everyone. As someone who’s been both lonely and friendless in middle school, to having more friends yet still feeling lonely as a recent high school grad, there is a deep sense of helplessness knowing that friendships may be unreciprocated and one sided. Things really do get better upon the realization that personal goals, values, and hobbies, are so much more important than chasing that feeling of wanting to be needed.

Unfortunately I feel this so much. I don’t come from a really good school, and students in my school isn’t very passionate about college neither. Finding people to even write their name on projects and competitions I can’t apply alone is very exhausting due to the fact nobody wants to work with me. Or work for anything in particular ☹️
