@ssinvasives: In the Sea to Sky, you may see several plants flowering in August, but did you know some of them might be invasive? Be on the lookout for Himalayan balsam, tansy ragwort, flowering rush, common burdock, and common tansy! These are all invasive to the Sea to Sky and have negative impacts on our ecosystems. If you see one of these species, report it to us at ssisc.ca/report! #InvasiveSpecies #SeaToSky #SSISC Photo credits: Page 1: Tansy ragwort: L Scott Page 1: Common burdock: Sean Blaney (CC BY-NC) (iNaturalist) Page 1: Flowering Rush: Bob Brett Page 4: Flowering Rush: Yael Orgad (CC BY-NC) (iNaturalist) Page 4: Flowering Rush: Bob Brett Page 5: Common Burdock: Owen and Carol Fawcett (CC BY) (iNaturalist) Page 6: Common Tansy: sandrineguay (CC-BY-NC) (iNaturalist) Page 6: Common Tansy Flowers: sandrineguay (CC-BY-NC) (iNaturalist) Image descriptions: Page 1: Background image of Pemberton backcountry with images of tansy ragwort, common burdock, Himalayan balsam, common tansy and flowering rush.
