There’s a creator on here who’s in legal for nursing, she said a girl one time got fired bc her patient died and they subpoenaed her PHONE RECORDS and saw her scrolling tik tok at the TOD and she lost her license over it!!!!!!!

Cheat sheet: during your shift, document something in your notebook/paper hourly per patient. Then end of shift, you have a good template. Get to documenting.

I was questioned by the DA for 4 hours about a resident who fell and eventually died from a brain bleed. She fell on my day off, I was her nurse the next day.It was a good thing I charted because this man read it back to me and I had to explain what it meant and he asked me how I would diagnose a brain bleed, I told him I wouldn’t because I’m not a doctor.

Medical malpractice attorney here… yes, and don’t y’all try to change any notes after an incident, we can see every time the chart is opened, when, and who made edits to the medical records/chart. However, to the good medical providers out there, saving lives and caring for their patients like family, please keep up the good work.

I had a patient that needed a refill on her pain meds. She didn't want to see the doc virtually & he wouldn't refill without that. I explained that to the patient & she told me to "go fuck myself, I'll just go get some smack off the street and die!" I told the doc, he didn't want me to document what happened verbatim. Yeah, you're not my boss. Ngl I enjoyed typing "patient told me to go fuck myself. MD notified. Will continue to monitor."
