@drdavidabbasi: This is exactly what happens when you get creative with gym equipment instead of using it the way it's designed. 😬 Every machine in the gym is engineered with a specific range of motion, joint angle, and muscle activation pattern in mind. When you use it outside of that intended path, standing on it, angling your body wrong, or forcing a movement it wasn't built for, you're putting stress on joints, tendons, and connective tissue in ways they're not designed to handle. This is exactly how you end up with things like ligament sprains, tendon strains, or even fractures from a machine that's normally completely safe when used properly. Gym equipment isn't dangerous by design, it's dangerous when it's used unpredictably. If you're ever unsure how a machine is supposed to be used, ask a trainer or look up the proper form before experimenting. It genuinely is not worth the injury risk to save two minutes. 🏋️ ✅Follow @drdavidabbasi for More Daily Medical Content & Health Tips! 📍Schedule a consultation in Delray Beach! Sometimes I look at the Pilates machines, as well, and the people balancing on moving platforms, above springs and empty space, on their toes and I wonder how many accidents there are. I was a gymnast and it looks dangerous even to me. I worry.
