Huh?? I literally got mine in 5 minutes when I had to get a new card, they just printed and activated it at the front desk, they used to mail it to you but now they just do it there

yeah, it used to be we had a high trust society in the US where most followed some form of moral exceptionalism. Basically, people trying to do the best they can as morally as possible because that's just the right thing you do. but somewhere around the 60s - 70s that trust started to erode, and low trust people started to just do the bare minimum to get the most out of the system. this would in turn cause others to lose trust and the low trust society grows. what we are seeing are the last threads of our society unravelling.
