ive done some repairs one these old Victorian style houses. This is a really solid approach. The standard way is lining them with a lead pan the runs up under the shingles and the soldering them. I like the approach you took. Good work.

This is a perfect restoration choice. We had a neighbor who went out and treated theirs with beeswax every summer which was so much work and did nothing to protect the remaining wood.

I can’t be the only one that never knew wood gutters were a thing. I never once in my life wondered what materials they used for gutter 100-200 years ago on houses

I had to get wooden box gutters replaced and to get them, because they were so badly neglected for years, it was 30k to get them the way they were originally built. Good one you for not doing newer gutters
