Getting “a job” will the hardest and least fulfilling path to take. You do have a unique and valuable perspective that could bring a human face and voice to the ones marginalized by the professionalized system. If you can build an audience/community of like minded people then political groups will reach out to you for the advice and credibility only you have. These are mutually exclusive either.

I have a Master’s degree and I’m from here. I haven’t had a full-time Seattle-based job since Pramila’s ‘18 reelection campaign. The political scene is tough out here! I’m now like beholden to doing national organizing since nearly all of my experience has been there. Granted, I am also a campaign manager for a race out here. Working a campaign is probably the most accessible option to getting a job in a legislative office IMO. DM me if you want a campaign job though- my partner Stephen is a consultant and has tons of connects.
