Growing up, we’ve always had house help. Plenty of them because my mum was operating a food business. But you will clean your room yourself, you will wash your clothes, you will cook. My mum won’t allow you to buy food outside ooo. And oh you will clean your room twice everyday. I honestly thought my mum never liked me. I thought I was her step daughter because why would you let your only child work like this? When you come to our house you wouldn’t know who is a house help or a family ooo. I carried water. Pounded fufu, washed dishes when the customers are done eating, run errands, tell me what I didn’t do in that house. I even remember going to my aunty’s house to ask if really I’m my mother’s daughter. I wanted to grow up and leave the house so would have my freedom. I was posted to a village when I was 23. And oh I’m doing more than my mum🤣🤣🤣. I clean like 3 times in a day. I cook almost every day ooo. I’ve been in this village for 7 years now and I’ve never bought food outside. Cuz of how I put my things together, everyone around me loves me. When our district officers are having a meeting in my village guess who cooks for them? Me. I won’t say I’m a perfect cook but hello, I cook good foods. Madam Mariama Siaka, thank you mummy for not spoiling me

Pls I bet to differ, when I got married at age 24, I didn't know how to prepare even rice. when my husband came to ask for my hand in marriage, My father told him that "my daughter can not cook' , in fact, I couldn't even prepare koko ( porridge) If the man truly loves you he will not be bothered. I have been married for 36years plus.... Notwithstanding...today, I'm more than a 👩‍🍳, I can prepare both local and continental dishes. My husband, children, grandchildren, even family and friends love my meals so much. It all depends....

Home training is very important. My wife trained all my children both males and females cooking and the rest. They have no problem of preparing any dish for the entire family.

My sons are 10 and 7. They sweep the house and wash the dishes before I wake up. They're not perfect but still learning. I always tell them, no woman is training her daughter to become a maid for any man so they should learn and be able to take care of themselves and so they can help their wives with chores.

I'm a good cook, but my husband is not allowing me teach my kids. Whenever I assign any house chores to them, it becomes a problem which turns into a misunderstanding. I just gave up.

A colleague of mine had the same problem and she confined in me, so at the end of the month she brings money and I also add up. We go to the market after planning the menu for the month, and it was fun we quarrel always 😅 because she wanted to be lazy and I was very strict on her. She is a good cook now and she has added baking to her career. It's not too late to learn
