I'd believe this lifestyle more if I saw more 50yrs old plus trad wives still saying how great it was after the kids have grown.... I've seen none over 25/30yrs

She smiles while saying “you should have the courage to have more kids than you can afford”, not knowing that will mean buying them crappy shoes, cheap food and living in subpar housing while you are depressed & overwhelmed with a 24/7 job while hubby puts in his 8 hours & relaxes for the other 16 hours. There was a reason that “tradwives” in the 1960’s & 70’s had to be medicated to get through the day, but you won’t have that option because you can’t afford it. I was lucky enough, when my kids were small, to be able to decide if my marriage was worth saving based on our emotional interaction & not because i needed him to not end up homeless.

This is so heartbreaking. I was married for 26 years. My husband never expected me to serve him or obey him. We were partners and we both took care of each other, the kids and the house. He didn’t think he was smarter than me and he certainly didn’t think I was beneath him.

Married to my husband 25yrs- USED TO HAVE an equal and respectful partnership. In the last 2 yrs he’s been treating me like a at home babysitter. I work full time, take care of the kids, the house, animals, laundry…and on and on. I gave him the boot 4 months ago and have never been happier

I’ve been married for almost 24 years. We have supported each other through many college degrees (bachelor for both, masters for both and a PhD for me) and two awesome daughters. We’re not hierarchical … we’re PARTNERS - equals - anything less than that is not acceptable
