for those wondering it's because at the nozzle the concentration of the gas is high. for gas to ignite the mixture of air and gas(lpg) must be 31:1 ndo combustion ifanyike. The lpg ina disperse as it moves through the air and at that exact point is where the ratio is dispersed enough to get that 31:1 ratio hence combustion happens. thats why the flame looks like it's floating (By air I mean oxygen)
