It's very likely that the same thing will happen as with City of Heroes. The players managed to leak the code, and it wasn't until two years ago that the company granted the license to the community, It's now called City of Heroes: Homecoming

Fun fact most of what the warframe severs do is track your account info and host relays, the rest of the game is just on your pc, DE could easily make an update allowing private server hosting if they ever were to shutdown.

They’ll somehow make the Man in the Wall winning the canon ending, then shut down the servers and make it canon in real life too. He didn’t just end Warframe but also ended it for us

on the launcher there is an option to local host, im sure if they ever were to shut down they'd fix up and modernize it and you'd be able to play, just no more live timed stuff
