I used to be the same way. I would crochet to keep my mind busy. Now, I find myself cooking from scratch to save our family money. I don’t exactly enjoy it, but I do it. And now, gag-nab-it my son now wants his future wife to cook from scratch. The boy is 8 🙄😂

I can't understand this. I was raised by a depression baby. I feel guilty spending money. if it is not absolutely necessary, anxiety. I had my nails one twice. I felt soooo stupid, guilty, wasteful

My 14 year old has adhd and I can see shopping is a dopamine fix for her. If she’s feeling unregulated or bored her go to is “can we go to the shop or town” and I know it’s cause she needs to buy something… anything! It’s hard to teach her alternatives when the answer is not needing a dopamine hit.
