@danimorin13: Anytime I bring up the fact that I’m nearly double the size I normally am, people immediately suggest a GLP-1…..including my doctor. And come to find out, because of my PCOS and where my weight is right now, my insurance would actually cover one. And I’ll admit, it was intriguing enough that for a second I thought, maybe this is when I move away from breastfeeding and start focusing on getting my body back. But I just can’t. My personal belief has always been that for the first year after having a baby and honestly, even into the second..my body is still, in many ways, their body. This season is such a tiny fraction of their lives, and I’m willing to sacrifice parts of myself for a little longer if it means continuing to give them what I can. But here’s the part that’s harder for me to admit out loud: a lot of the weight I’ve gained has nothing to do with breastfeeding. It’s my habits. I’ve gotten comfortable. I haven’t been making the best choices. And as much as it kills me to say that publicly, I also know I can’t blame this entire season of my body on motherhood. So I’m starting a new journey….not to “get my body back,” but to start taking better care of the body I have right now, while still breastfeeding and without rushing this season to an end. And I’m embarrassingly putting it out here to hold myself accountable. #healthjourney #twinpregnancy

I will say, Mounjaro changed my life with PCOS. Not just for weight loss, it literally erased every symptom that i had from PCOS. I remember crying because I didn’t realize what normal felt like. I wasn’t nursing at the time so I’m not sure what the rules are for that. I’ve had two bariatric surgeries and the GLP 1 is the only thing that ever made me feel normal. My diet and exercise was great, I just needed the inflammation gone.

I mean this so so nicely, please don’t take this the wrong way but have you gotten your thyroid checked? I say this because one side of your neck looks like it’s more swollen than the other side.. which could explain the other things as well 🥹🥹💙

I’ve gained more weight nursing my twins than I did pregnant with them. It’s so hard to eat good when I want to eat everything!

I am always insatiable when I am breast feeding. I have to stop breast feeding to lose weight. I always weigh more breast feeding than I do 9 months pregnant 😭

It’s so hard! I had a few issues that limited my mobility and want to go out (wearing diapers for a long time) with my second and it is so rough

Girl same! #5 is a year and I’ve been dieting and exercising since June 1st and I’m only down 12 lbs 😅 I would love to be able to do a GLP-1, but still breastfeeding. Old fashioned way for now!

I randomly decided to take up running two months ago and it's been surprisingly nice, as someone who has never ran before! I needed a hobby that was active that I could do with my daughter!

My sister was on GLP & when she started trying she had to get off of it & she gained, gained, gained weight fairly quickly. No matter how healthy she ate. I’m scared to get on one now lol

This is crazy that this just came up on my fyp. First, I’ve hardly been on TT in weeks. TODAY was my first day really focusing on my health. I’ve breastfeed for 23 months. My goals is still 2 years (though I doubt I will be able to ween this boob obsessed toddler by then. 🙃) also a PCOS girlie who’s been recommended a glp1, and I just can’t because I have the same outlook with my body not just being mine right now. I’ve GAINED 30 lbs since having my baby. My bf cravings were terrible. and I decided last week it’s time. I grocery shopped today and meal planned for the week. I’m getting active, and I’m cutting out chocolate (always been my kryptonite and worst craving) for 1 week and seeing how I do. Starting with small goals that hopefully lead to healthy habits. Why did I type all this? Idk. Maybe my way of putting it out there to hold myself accountable. But want you to know you’re not on this journey alone! We’re on the same timeline, and you can do this. Your health is worth it for your babies. 🫶🏼

for me, after I stopped breastfeeding it took a few months, but I lost the majority of the weight I had gained, but because I treated my postpartum as a bulking period before that, I am the strongest I have ever been too! I had a great pelvic physio too, it made such a difference! Breastfeeding bodies are just so insane

Everyone told me when I was breast-feeding. The weight would just come off, but instead, I gained weight because I was so hungry all the time. Even more than pregnancy. I couldn’t break myself up the habit so I did go on Wegovy and lost 100 pounds. And I know how some people feel about it but if you’re trying your hardest and the weight is still not coming off some people need help and that’s OK.

Look into blood sugar regulation! The glucose goddess has some amazing information. You crave junk because you’re TIRED- breastfeeding & raising 3 kids is exhausting work! But eating better will start with a little bit of discipline and then you’ll start feeling sooooo much better! The choices become less difficult. I’m 3 years into my fitness/get myself back journey and have learned so much. All started with gestational diabetes lol

I went on a GLP for a little while and it catapulted my weight loss. I didn’t stay on it very long, but I feel like it reset my insulin resistance!

Consider filling your perscription for a GLP1 and stock up if you think you’ll take it after you are done breastfeeding. Insurance notoriously withdraws approval especially if you are able to lose any weight on your own.
