It was unveiled by Koenigsegg in 2015 as a model combining the best technologies of the Agera R and Agera S, with significant improvements in aerodynamics and weight reduction. The car features a carbon fiber body with a carbon fiber and aluminum monocoque chassis, and has a dry weight of approximately 1,295 kg. It is powered by Koenigsegg’s in-house developed 5.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, producing 1,160 horsepower on 95-octane fuel and up to 1,341 horsepower with 1,371 Nm of torque when running on E85 fuel. Power is delivered through a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with an electronic differential. The Agera RS accelerates from 0–100 km/h in 2.8 seconds, 0–200 km/h in 6.6 seconds, and 0–300 km/h in approximately 10.0 seconds. It also achieved 0–400 km/h–0 in 36.44 seconds, setting a world record at the time. On November 4, 2017, the Agera RS recorded an average speed of 447.19 km/h (277.87 mph) on a closed highway in Nevada, USA, after reaching 436.44 km/h in one direction and 457.94 km/h in the opposite direction, making it the world’s fastest production car at that time. It also set several other world records, including the fastest acceleration to 400 km/h and the fastest 0–250 km/h, 0–300 km/h, and 0–400 km/h times. Production was strictly limited to 25 units, all of which were sold before production began, making the Agera RS one of the rarest and most valuable Koenigsegg models among collectors. To this day, it remains one of the greatest engineering achievements in the world of hypercars.
