The biggest problem with the theory is that those centuries weren’t recorded only by Europeans. We have independent records from China, the Byzantine Empire, the Islamic world, archaeological evidence, tree-ring dating, radiocarbon dating, and even astronomical observations that correspond to this period. So yes, we should question history and recognise that some things we’re taught are uncertain or wrong. But the specific claim that 614–911 never happened doesn’t hold up against the independent evidence.
