This Father's Day, I'd gently suggest we let an car commercial remind us of something true: the love that PROTECTS us is often the love we never see, the hand we don't notice until it stops us from going over the edge, and the people doing that watching DESERVE to be seen long before the near miss. The real labor is the watching. The part nobody sees and nobody thanks you for. The loving eyes that stay open long after everyone else has looked away. So to every adult child quietly keeping watch over an aging parent this Father's Day, and to every father who once did the same from the driver's seat: I see you.
