QS’s rarely do the job correctly distributing GA’s and relying on suppliers to dissect the BOQ for them - inevitably they miss all the detail and the low ball pricing strategy of some suppliers merely is corrected with copious variation requests downstream - budget is shot to pieces and the argument starts! Poor architecture with non-existent engineering supported by inexperienced QS’s = a total mess! Serious suppliers are overlooked for the QS bonus culture! Construction needs radical reform and the bonus culture cancelled

Started to lose passion when I realised my job is literally just to maximise shareholder profits. Our job is to squeeze as much money out of the project as possible, and it just lands in the big dog’s pockets. Feels pointless
