We’re all going to have flaws to confront, wounds to heal, habits to change, and parts of ourselves that still need growth. The right relationship shouldn’t prevent that growth—it should create a safe place for both people to pursue it. That doesn’t mean tolerating harmful behavior forever or expecting someone else to fix you. It means being able to say, “I know I have work to do, but I want to do that work while continuing to choose you.” Love isn’t always meeting someone at the perfect moment when both of you have everything figured out. Sometimes it’s meeting someone worth growing alongside, taking accountability when you fall short, encouraging each other through difficult seasons, and becoming better without abandoning each other every time life gets complicated. You shouldn’t have to carry your partner’s entire journey, and they shouldn’t have to carry yours, but there’s something incredibly powerful about knowing neither of you has to walk it completely alone. Life will never be perfect, and neither will we. Sometimes real partnership is simply two imperfect people saying, “We’ll keep working on ourselves, we’ll keep showing up for each other, and whatever life brings, we’ll face it together.”
