Most importantly, let them see that your family pauses everything for Allah. 4–5 years: BUILD UNDERSTANDING • Teach the steps of salah slowly. • Continue practising wuḍūʾ. • Memorise more surahs and daily duʿās. • Explain the meanings of what they’re saying. • Occasionally wake them for Fajr so they experience its beauty. • Speak often about Allah’s mercy, Jannah, Power of Dua and the honour of praying. Correct gently. Focus on building love before correctness. A child who loves salah will want to learn it well. By now, your child should know: “When it’s prayer time, our family stops.” Not because salah interrupts life, because salah is part of life. Remember, they’re still watching you. Do they see you delaying prayer, or protecting it? Children imitate what we consistently honour. You’re not only teaching them how to pray. You’re teaching them Who they’re praying to.
