This is a rule we have in EMS. It if’s sticky or wet and not yours, don’t touch it. Also, blood goes round and round, air goes in and out. Any variation of that is bad.

That being the case, they should make the admin do the blood-borne training. Why punish the teachers?

Preservice week meetings can be summed up in one sentence “don’t touch blood, kids or coworkers” 😂😂

Twenty years ago School Nurse told the teachers in our day 1 district meeting "If it is warm, wet, sticky and not yours, DO NOT TOUCH IT!". I still laugh to this day.

I just completed my blood-borne pathogen training today. I don’t think all blood-Bourne pathogen trainings are the same, cause mine certainly didn’t say that lol

When I get to my bin of scissors in my 7th grade science class, I tell students that they have to be aware of how they use them due to pointy bits easily sticking into fleshy bits, because of course it's happened before.

Former middle school specialized classroom teacher here… classroom rule #1 for us was “no hands in body orifices!” Because ya never knew where those hands would go…. 😂 I feel like this rule aligns well.

and while were on the topic, if a kid comes up to you with a closed fist and says "Here, Miss, I have something for you," you do not take it. Alternatively, if they ask you to smell something, you do not smell the thing. And if they bring in something they baked for you in foods class you politely take it, then give it to the coworker you don't like after the kid is gone.

Worse yet, when you touch something and it’s wet but not supposed to be! My favorite line in the kindergarten room is “why is this wet?!?”
