i feel like some of the white people there seem to be saying something that sounds beautiful: "Let's not focus on the different color of our skin!!", but if we chose not to see color we literally ignoring the fact that racism still exists and just refuse to adress it. We need to keep to talking about people of color as people of color because they are still opressed and it can't, and should not, be fucking ignored. saying "color doesn't matter" is correct when it comes to judging eachother, but saying "we should ignore that someone is black and just see the person" is like stripping that person of the fact that they live in a racist, opressive system and society and that shape their lifes. Us white people need to step the fuck up and take responsibility and fucking acknowledge that the world isnt fair, and our ancestors have made it that way, and actively work to give people of color the space and voices they deserve.

If we do try to understand and have empathy, but we don’t have the power to make systemic changes, what can we do? I’m genuinely asking. I don’t think black people would come after us if they came to power. I see black people as the most kind and authentic people. But if I feel like this, what difference does it make?
