I work at a paint store. anyone outside of a painter/painting business, i always tell them this when they buy stain. im sorry no one told you.

Do ppl in the comments not know the difference between staining and painting? I also can’t imagine coming onto someone’s page where they share their home caught on fire and pointing out what they don’t like about their home. Ppl are so out of touch. I’m so sorry this happened. 🫂

GenX and older grew up with PSAs from the fire department saying to never keep paint/stain/gas rags in a pile and/or in the house/garage. I hadn't realized these PSAs had stopped. I'm so sorry this happened.

Trying to fix something that wasn’t broken in the first place and to stain oak floors, I don’t even know a word that I could say to express my disappointment. And people turning light wood floors into dark wood floors it’s crazy unless the floor was damage and you were needing to cover it up, but the floors were fine
