best treatment if you can't pull them out immediately is to put triple antibiotics cream over night and pull outbin the morning

hard to remove them cause they are still "alive" in your foot. Go to parmacy and buy ammonia, soak it with cloth for 5 min, and pull them out like any thorn. If you are off grid, you will have to piss on your feet.
