@amy_santoro: Replying to @sentientgirl this is why what you see on TikTok is not appearing in the courtroom in the Lindsey Clancy case. Because they are too completely separate realities. #truecrime #lindsayclancy #massachusetts #law #crime

Thank you. People need to realize this is real life. There is no plot twist. She did it. That’s literally not up for debate.

Everytime there’s a infamous court case people want there to be some massive twist in the last 10 minutes like it’s a SVU episode or something

I need a psychologist to please explain why people want Patrick to take the blame for this . It’s been proven beyond doubt that he didn’t do it

I feel like they did exactly this with the Elisa Lam/Cecil Hotel case. Documentaries spend an hour replaying all sorts of creepy video footage and talking about all the horrible things that had previously happened in the hotel, and at the very end for about two minutes talk about the fact that she had bipolar disorder and was prone to manic episodes, and that was the most likely explanation. It feels so icky and dishonest when documentaries do this.

And in the meantime mental healthcare for women takes a back seat. Again.

I literally cannot wait till the trial is over so all the insane conspiracy people can learn that actually there is no secret plan to convict Patrick of murder!

I think a lot of this comes from the internet’s obsession with punishment. Some people cannot accept that not everything is a movie and sometimes there’s no good vs evil. To them, if Lindsey isn’t guilty, then surely her husband MUST be. They are incapable of believing that psychosis can make people do things they otherwise wouldn’t without some external driver, so to rationalize it they have to convince themselves that either Lindsey or her husband are lying and killed the kids intentionally. It’s just the American carceral system in an online form imo

It’s just so disappointing because this case could bring up so many important conversations - how psychosis manifests, postpartum care for women, mental healthcare systems, etc.… and instead people are fixated on proving that Patrick is actually the perpetrator. Meanwhile not one (1) person actually involved with the trial has ever even suggested that someone other than Lindsay killed her kids.

1. How did he know she killed the kids immediately? She didn’t tell him she did. He finds them, “She killed the fucking kids” 2. He came to that conclusion immediately but if that made sense to him so quickly that she was capable of killing them, why did he leave his kids with her minutes before? Seems extremely negligent to me. Especially when there’s Uber Eats and instacart.

This case could've started a real conversation. It could've been the catalyst that sparked a huge reform in postpartum healthcare. It could've led to the biggest W for women's rights that we've seen in literal decades. Instead it's been reduced to gossip and baseless conspiracy theories. It's depressing.

What do you mean the body temperature not making sense and her not being able to speak with a broken thyroid is not real? Are those not both true? I haven’t heard a single explanation of how she could have gotten that cold.

I don’t know how to say this to people but the true crime community was built around cases that had already been solved. Cold cases that got solved years later interesting cases that got solved multiple murder cases, free cases, serial killer cases all of them are solved then there were the book written about them then we got interested in it now people on social media and podcasting seem to believe their actual investigators in active cases and that’s ridiculous

In my opinion, people throw these s*up if ideas out about the case because they are addicted to feeling like they are more than what they actually became in their life. They are addicted to feeling like they are smarter than they are and like they live in this fantasy where the investigators are going to call them and praise them for finding something they didnt (like that documentary “don’t f*k with cats”). These people want so desperately for there to be a plot twist because they can’t accept their lives are ordinary and they themselves, are ordinary.
