That’s not how that’s supposed to be done. Typically one end the trailer has a wider flat bar than the other end. Cut the width of the narrow flat bar off the end of the board. Slide the board under the wider flat bar and it should fall flat on the trailer barely missing the narrow flat bar. Once the board is laying flat on the trailer, slide it under the narrow flat bar. Both ends of the board are now under the flat bars at each end. The board is now ready to be screwed or thru bolted into place.
