This is an open letter to BLACKPINK and to anyone else who wants to read it. I am not here to offend you, let alone diminish everything you have built over the years. I am here to express my frustration after seven years as a BLACKPINK fan. The disregard for your fans is not exactly something new. We have spent years waiting for something that would live up to the greatness the group has achieved. We waited for music, projects, performances, and, above all, the feeling that there is still a genuine desire to make BLACKPINK happen. Instead, we are often given releases that feel like they were made simply to fulfill an obligation, only to disappear shortly afterward. This year, you released five tracks that, to me, ended up feeling disposable. There was not enough time for them to really be enjoyed, promoted, or developed to their full potential. After that, you simply disappeared again. And then, yesterday, on the group's tenth anniversary, you appeared together again. A livestream, a few words, a few celebrations... and once again, no clear indication of where BLACKPINK intends to go from here. That is what frustrates me the most. I do not want you to release song after song simply because the fans are asking for it. I also do not want you to stay together if none of the four of you genuinely wants to continue as BLACKPINK. After following you for so many years, I think the fans deserve, at the very least, to know what to expect. So I want to end this letter by sincerely wishing each of you all the best with your individual projects. And although it is difficult to say this after so many years as a fan, perhaps I would genuinely rather see you pursue separate paths than continue waiting years for a group that only appears from time to time before disappearing again. Please do not take this the wrong way. If I still care enough to write this, it is because you meant something to me for a very long time.
