Comics are weird if don’t change something about a character after awhile your you risk the character falling into obscurity but if you change things too much suddenly your risk people not understanding the character. It’s like how Peter can’t be happy because he will lose his relatability but at the same time people are tired of him suffering

Fun fact, Batman stopped using a gun because the creators were running out of ideas for villains for Batman to fight. They found it easy to just give him a no killing rule so they don’t have to constantly think up new bad guys.

iron man is slowly becoming his mcu counterpart in the comics (which is a good thing imo) They’re taking a lot of the good things like making his origin a focal point again but also mixing it in with a lot of controversial things iron man does in the comics which makes him a way better flawed character for me then just basically this asshole who is constantly messing things up for other heroes. I pray the damage comics civil war did is undone one day

Superhero's being myth is AWESOME, love it most of the time, but sometimes as a comic fan it kinda pisses me off. Even when it's a character I've never read, the adaption completely changing a character can piss me off (especially when it's BETTER, because it basically means we'll never see the comics version adapted again)

As someone's who's favorite comic character was Harley Quinn, adaptation and experimentation made her an actual deep and nuanced character. I'm sure Iron Man fans are grateful that the MCU turned what was a pretty one-note dude in an iron suit into the multi-layered and way more popular character. Even if parts they liked may have been toned down or erased.

The GotG were totally fucked in the movies. Everything about them is horrible and when they changed them in the comics to have movie synergy i lost my shit. The team before the movies is still one of the best published comics ever since Annihilation.

This is interesting, one of my favorite characters is Miss Martian from DC comics. I have read all the books she has been in and it's been quite depressing she has not really grown in over 20 years. meanwhile in the Young Justice animated series she is a fully realized character who had grown and changed and is arguably much more interesting than her comic counter part since the show gave her more stories and complexity which we will never see in the comics.

Super interesting….im also in the middle. I’m a “comic purist” I guess but even watching the new spider-man movie and seeing how people are connecting to it makes me also realize that the myth is bigger than me. Kinda humbling and ultimately I think it’s a good thing…
