I've been wondering this for a while now. Say I, HYPOTHETICALLY, decide to sometimes use the word womankind instead of mankind. I bet some people would be so pissed off but honestly, what are they even gonna say? "Oh that's an attack on men!" but I'm still using the word mankind, aren't I? If I were to use both mankind and womankind in equal amounts then how is it discriminating against either of them? "But that word already exists with different meanings so you can't use it like that!" so suddenly words aren't allowed to have more than one meaning? Like with the word sigma: it has been an official word for about 5 centuries with the meaning of the Greek letter Σ. About 15 years ago however, people started using it with the completely different meanings of a cool, admirable person and so it became a polysemous word. So genuinely, WHAT would people be able to do about it? Absolutely nothing.
