& please young ladies who may see this and read this comment- get your HPV vaccine!!! It was new when I was young and I didn’t get it. But, I got HPV 16. I then had abnormal cells. Then multiple LEEPs and CKC. Then I got cancer and had a total hysterectomy young before I had children :(. Prevention is key!!! And pleaseeeeeee get your pap screens! It is that serious.

What’s crazy is men are not routinely screened for HPV.. no wonder 80% of sexually active women have had HPV at some point

It sucks that they came out with a vaccine when I didn’t fit the age, then they raised the age and I had already passed that. I wish they would have given the vaccine to anyone at any age. 🤔

This literally just happened to me in the last year. I had been 100% celibate for 10yrs after a bad relationship. Never had a negative pap in my entire life! Eventually broke my celibacy for 2 yrs relationship with a new and completely monogamous and safe partner and BOOM, next scheduled pap, POSITIVE! I never suspected he stepped out on me bcse he’s just not that kind of guy. So who knows where it came from, could have carried it from a previous partner 🤷🏽♀️But gladly mine cleared itself. Hate they don’t have standard testing as a priority for men. HUGE reason why this is rampant and we women have to suffer 😩

Years ago my dr told me my husband must have cheated because the previous year I tested negative. I knew better and switched doctors. Uneducated doctors are dangerous!

I was pregnant with my third child with my husband at one of my visits. I came up positive. My doctor informed me that this could’ve been dormant in my body for over 10 years. I was ready to go home and kill my husband. I had to get tested three months after that and I never came up positive again that was 18 years ago. 🤨

My HPV became active right when I came off the pill and dropped into full menopause. I also came down with COVID at the same time. I have been abstinent for 10 years. My gynaeo told me the only way I could have it was if my current partner had cheated on me. 🙄 Thank you for sharing this as wrong advice could be terrible for many long term relationships.

This happened to a friend of mine! She and her husband of 8 yrs almost divorced over it. Turned out she was the carrier and he didn’t even have it and she’d likely been carrying it for over a decade.
