A little hopecore for you all: I have a degree in marketing and wanted to get into social media marketing. Been applying to 100s upon 100s of jobs and last week I landed a volunteer position for a nonprofit company and a paid freelance position for a group in my city 🥰 never give up people!!

Im not trying sound like a tinfoil hat person but genuinely I need everyone to understand the job market is purposefully being made this way because it encourages future working class generations to not go to college, while the elites will always send their children to the top universities so their kids can take the positions themselves after they’re qualified

My suggestion! Start volunteering at a food bank/animal shelter/etc. Talk with the other volunteers. Make a genuine connection with them and let them know that you are looking for work. I was offered a job that way. It’s often the person to person connection that will get your foot in the door 💙

I had an interview awhile back got ghosted and was pissed about it... Randomly reading the news and turned out they were looking for a hit and run driver who killed a guy biking to work and that biker was the guy that interviewed me! Turned out he ghosted me because he became a ghost...

I applied for goodwill and made it pass the online interviews, when I went to the in store interview the lady gave me a tour of the whole place and then at the end goes “yeah so IF we decide to hire you we will give you a call back.”

Start networking heavy. Start cold messaging people on linkedin in your field/target companies/ target positions and set up coffee chats. Most jobs are through internal referrals

I went to an interview at a coffee shop. Interview went really good. She said I’m on the team and that I’m hired with her own words but now I have to wait for her to “finish interviews and then she’ll send me the email”…….
