AI is still super spikey in its capabilities - while it’s true that it’s amazing at some tasks - it’s still incredibly flawed in very basic things - like helping me in troubleshooting why my condensation pump stopped working - yet a YouTube video gave me an answer very quickly

AI is having a pr problem because all the CEOs like Dario are taking the doomerish approach saying this is going to take all jobs and shit away… that’s why the former group exists and not everyone is at the frontier of all of this so it all seems like Fugazi to many.

I’m going to measure the value of AI by the rate at which we’re able to improve cancer outcomes. Writing code and optimizing supply chains is nice but can it help solve real problems?

I think it’s pretty simple. AI is a multiplier in both directions. It enhances good mathematicians and software devs to be even better. It also makes mediocre people think they are now doing good work when they are just producing slop

Chatbots don’t seem to be the best form factor for consumer. Nor were (static) websites, on their own, the best form factor for consumers to use the internet(dynamic was better— aol, Napster, MySpace, etc.) . Someone should build something🤔

I think what holds me back from being a full believer in AI is the fact that's inherently designed on traditional computing architecture, and no matter how efficient you get the scaling for computer is horrid. A Base 2 mathematical system will struggle to emulate the human brain without absurd scaling of compute, you can only get so efficient when the mathematical system behind it is so limited. However, if these systems are effectively translated into quantum computing systems when they are ready, or through brains constructed by stem cells when their ready either, I think that's when we'll see even a very effective system.

False dichotomy! Why can’t there be a parallel universe where people aren’t underestimating AI capabilities while also not drinking the coolade and exaggerating how good ai is. Notice you always mentioned a human using ai. It’s not like these ai bots are fully independent

Hello clue ; I currently have a saas I want to make but I’m not sure about how to use ai to make it . I’m not sure what the best workflow to code it , how to set things up and how to code it up with ai in a good and structured way (as opposed to just giving the whole prd to 5.6 sol ultra and telling it to just make it in full 😭😂) , I’d really appreciate your insight into what to do

i’ve noticed this exact thing too for example I have friends who say why would you ever use AI? It makes too many mistake🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 meanwhile I literally think AI is the smartest thing on the planet. I think it’s a skill issue and truly how you use AI that makes all the difference.
