what makes this even worse is that until that episode she NEVER asked questions period. never even a "how are you steven?" its always a statement. after that episode she started asking questions about common things and we're more ok to separate as ruby and sapphire

My thing about Rose is… we have to remember that most of the details we learned about her came from people’s specific perspective of her. I can’t imagine how many people played up her anger because she was a diamond, or people who spoke about her betrayals as if they were the worst thing possible, because that’s how THEY FELT. homeworld was a planet that was all about quotas and the status quo, it doesn’t surprise me that people would hate and antagonize her for wanting to be free from that system. Because then they would have to face the fact that they, too, might also want to be free. I think pink is SUPPOSED to be polarizing. But I don’t think she’s a bad person, i think she was just trying to navigate a difficult situation and made mistakes along the way

to some degree I understand she didn't want the figurehead of rebellion to be another member of the ruling class and to inspire individual freedom but at some point over the centuries she needed to come clean before introducing Steven into the situation.

Rose never THINKS and it’s such an endearing but devastating trait bc from day 1 she adored. Loved everything about Garnet so in her mind Garnet was the answer to EVERYTHING she was fighting for. But she gave that order as Rose forgetting that at the end of the day she’s still got the power of a Diamond and stunted Garnets growth. The only one really free to grow and learn was Amethyst when you think about it and that was bc she was too young + raised completely on earth
