I think another issue is people aren’t vulnerable with themselves. They try to tell themselves their feels are invalid before someone else does. I am vulnerable with those close to me, but I couldn’t do that easily if I wasn’t open to myself. I recently admitted to my partner things that scare me and they acknowledge my feelings and reassured me that my fears aren’t warranted. That conversation would’ve never happened if I didn’t tell myself “yeah, this does bother me,” and then, “now how do I remedy it?”
