There is a steel cable inside the lock mechanism, and yours is broken. You have two options: buy a new lock assembly that includes the cable, or buy a second-hand cable from a scrapyard. 🙏🏻🤗

Need to take the skin and the door panel off and if you got scrap yard you can get the motor and the handle with it

I had an similar issue with my polo 9n3, turns out the previous owner messed up the coding of the comfort module. After reprogramming it it was fixed

drill a hole into the bit where the cable orignally sits, get a zip tie and thread it through the hole and get the piece of plastic on the cable to sit on the inside of the zip tie and then secure it in place should work as a fix instead of tearing everything apart
