@oklahomajojo: Sometimes I’m sewing and realize I’m weeping. I’m forever stuck in this moment. The moment I was handed my perfect Brooks. He was so small I needed my glasses to study him. The word glasses is hard for me to say even now. I’m not sure I’ve told anyone that. Did you know there is a name for the death wail at the end? It’s called keening. That wail is in my nightmares. I hear it most nights. I haven’t told people that either. My Brooks should be turning one this month. He shouldn’t be dead. My body shouldn’t have failed me when he was only half baked. Ugh. Damn HELLP syndrome.
