I have a 3month old. We read every night before bed. This week we started reading "the lion, the witch and the wardrobe." We do a chapter a night. Baby books aren't stimulating enough for me and she isn't quite interactive with pic books yet.

As a former first/second grade teacher, PLEASE READ TO YOUR KIDS!!! The limit does not exist as to how many to read per day! And, for the love of everything, pls keep them off electronics.

You can also read them books YOU like when they are babies - I’ve read A Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, Anne of Green Gables, Night and Yesteryear out loud to my 3-5m old. She doesn’t understand the adult content, but she likes my voice and hears new words. When she’s older I’ll read her A Wrinkle in Time, The Wizard of Oz etc.

I'm currently reading a gardening book and because I'm home alone with my baby most of the time I read it aloud to him or talk about the things I learned. I doubt that's what people mean when they say read to your child, but I need to explain things in order to understand it and he needs to hear me speak, so win win I guess

I’m having my first in January and initially I wanted to speak to him only in Spanish so he can become bilingual like his dad and I but my fiance has two kids who only speak English. Would it confuse him or delay his speech if we spoke Spanish to him if his siblings only speak English?
