Proper alignment and arm position are essential to prevent painful string slap and injury. To fix this, rotate your bow arm elbow outward. Keep your shoulders relaxed and down, avoiding the urge to hunch. You can practice your form against a wall or post. Place your bow hand flat against the surface and practice rotating your elbow outward without moving your shoulder—this builds the muscle memory for a proper, safe hold.
